حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَابِسٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْجَحَّافِ عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ وَعَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ قَالَ

نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ {إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ اللهُ لِيُذْهِبَ عَنْكُمُ الرِّجْسَ} أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ وَيُطَهِّرَكُمْ تَطْهِيرًا فِي رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَعَلِيٍّ وَفَاطِمَةَ وَالْحَسَنِ وَالْحُسَيْنِ ؓ

✧ This verse was revealed: {Allah only intends to remove from you impurity} O people of the household, and to purify you thoroughly—regarding the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, ʿAlī, Fāṭimah, al-Ḥasan, and al-Ḥusayn ؓ.
