al-Mu'jam al-Kabir (al-Tabarani) 231

✧ The lineage of Zubayr b. al-Awwam "Zubayr b. al-Awwam b. Khawilid b. Asad b. Abd al-Uzza b. Qusayy b. Kilab b. Murrah b. Ka'b b. Lu'ayy b. Ghalib b. Fihr b. Malik, known as Abu Abdullah, and his mother: Safiyyah bt. Abd al-Muttalib, the aunt of the Messenger.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ ثنا أَسَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثنا جَامِعٌ أَبُو سَلَمَةَ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ عَنِ الْبَهِيِّ قَالَ

كَانَ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَارِسَانِ الزُّبَيْرُ بْنُ الْعَوَّامِ عَلَى فَرَسٍ عَلَى الْمَيْمَنَةِ وَالْمِقْدَادُ بْنُ الْأَسْوَدِ عَلَى فَرَسٍ عَلَى الْمَيْسَرَةِ

Translation

✧ On the day of Badr, there were two horsemen with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: al-Zubayr b. al-Awwam on a horse on the right flank, and al-Miqdad b. al-Aswad on a horse on the left flank.
