حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا عَاصِمُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ قَالَا

ثنا عَبْدُ الْمُنْعِمِ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ الَإِسْوَارِيُّ عَنِ الصَّلْتِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ النَّهْدِيِّ عَنِ امْرَأَةٍ مِنْهُمْ يُقَالُ لَهَا أُمُّ عَفِيفٍ قَالَتْ «بَايَعْنَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ حِينَ بَايَعَ النِّسَاءَ فَأَخَذَ عَلَيْهِنَّ أَنْ لَا تُحَدِّثْنَ الرَّجُلَ إِلَّا مُحْرِمًا وَأَمَرَنَا أَنْ نَقْرَأَ عَلَى مَيِّتِنَا بِفَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ»

✧ Abd al-Munim Abu Said al-Harrani al-Iswari narrated to us, from al-Salt b. Dinar, from Abu Uthman al-Nahdi, from a woman among them called Umm Afif, who said: “We gave allegiance to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when he took allegiance from the women, and he enjoined upon them that they should not converse with a man except a mahram, and he commanded us to recite the Fatiha of the Book over our dead.”
