✧ Umm Haniʾ said: I went to the Messenger of God ﷺ on the day of the conquest and found him performing ghusl while his daughter Fatimah was screening him with a garment. I greeted him—and that was in the forenoon. The Prophet ﷺ said: “Who is this?” I said: “Umm Haniʾ bt. Abi Talib.” He said: “Welcome to Umm Haniʾ.” When he finished his ghusl, he prayed eight rakʿahs wrapped in a single garment, then he finished. I said: “O Messenger of God, the son of my mother claims that he will kill so-and-so, the son of Hubayrah, a man whom I have granted protection.” The Prophet ﷺ said: “We have granted protection to whom Umm Haniʾ has granted protection.” Al-Dabari reported it thus from ʿAbd al-Razzaq, from Malik, from Maymun b. Maysarah, and he erred in it. The correct version is what al-Qaʿnabi and others narrated from Malik, from Musa b. Maysarah.
