✧ We entered upon Fatimah bint Qays, and she offered us fresh dates and gave us a satisfying drink of barley sattu. She said: It was announced among the people that the prayer is to be gathered. So I went among the women who went, and I was in the first row of the women, next to the last row of the men. I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ saying: Cousins of Tamim al-Dari rode at sea, and their ship cast them onto an island among the islands of the sea. There they saw a beast whose hair covered it. When the people looked at it, it said: I am al-Jassasah, and in that monastery there is one who longs to see you. So the people went and found a human being shackled in iron, and they were trading with him. It was as if their coming pleased him. He asked them: Has your companion come out yet? They said: Yes. He said: Buhayrat al-Tabariyyah—what did it do? We said: It has plenty of water. He said: What did the date palms of Baysan do? We said: They have borne fruit. He said: And the spring of Zughar? We said: It has plenty of water. He said: Indeed, if I were to come out, I would tread all lands except Makkah and Taybah. She said: It is as if I am looking at the Messenger of God ﷺ raising his hand: 'This is Taybah,' pointing toward Madinah.
