حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْخَفَّافُ الْمِصْرِيُّ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي فُدَيْكٍ حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ قَيْسٍ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَخَّرَ لَيْلَةً صَلَاةَ الْعِشَاءِ الْآخِرَةَ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ فَقَالَ إِنَّمَا حَبَسَنِي حَدِيثٌ كَانَ يُحَدِّثُنِيهِ تَمِيمٌ الدَّارِيُّ عَنْ رَجُلٍ كَانَ فِي جَزِيرَةٍ مِنْ جَزَائِرِ الْبَحْرِ فَإِذَا هُوَ بِامْرَأَةٍ تَجُرُّ شَعْرَهَا فَقَالَ مَا أَنْتِ؟ قَالَتْ أَنَا الْجَسَّاسَةُ أَتَعْجَبُ مِنِّي؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ فَاذْهَبْ إِلَى ذَلِكَ الْقَصْرِ فَذَهَبْتُ إِلَيْهِ فَإِذَا فِيهِ رَجُلٌ يَجُرُّ شَعْرَهُ مُسَلْسَلٌ فِي الْأَغْلَالِ يَنْزُو بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ فَقَالَ لَهُ مَا أَنْتَ؟ قَالَ أَنَا الدَّجَّالُ أَخَرَجَ نَبِيُّ الْأُمِّيِّينَ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَأَطَاعُوهُ أَمْ عَصَوْهُ؟ قَالَ لَا بَلْ أَطَاعُوهُ قَالَ ذَلِكَ خَيْرٌ لَهُمْ وَهَلْ غَارَتِ الْمِيَاهُ؟

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ delayed the last evening prayer one night, then he came out and said, "Only a conversation that Tamim al-Dari was relating to me held me back, about a man who was on an island among the islands of the sea. There he saw a woman dragging her hair. He said, 'What are you?' She said, 'I am the Jassasah. Are you surprised at me?' He said, 'Yes. Go to that palace.' So I went to it, and there was a man dragging his hair, chained in fetters, leaping between the sky and the earth. He said to him, 'What are you?' He said, 'I am the Dajjal. Has the Prophet of the unlettered people appeared?' He said, 'Yes.' He said, 'Did they obey him or disobey him?' He said, 'No, rather they obeyed him.' He said, 'That is better for them. Have the waters receded?'"
