حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ الصَّائِغُ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْمُسَيَّبِيُّ ثنا فَضَالَةُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ مُجَمِّعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ قَيْسٍ قَالَتْ

جَلَسَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ صَلَاةَ الْعِشَاءِ الْآخِرَةَ حَتَّى رَقَدَ النَّاسُ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ فَقَالَ حَبَسَنِي حَدِيثٌ حَدَّثَنِي تَمِيمٌ الدَّارِيُّ عَنْ رَجُلٍ كَانَ فِي جَزِيرَةٍ فَإِذَا هُوَ بِامْرَأَةٍ تَجُرُّ شَعْرَهَا فَقَالَ مَا أَنْتِ؟ قَالَتْ أَنَا الْجَسَّاسَةُ أَتَعْجَبُ مِنِّي؟ اذْهَبْ إِلَى ذَلِكَ الْقَصْرِ فَذَهَبَ فَإِذَا هُوَ بِرَجُلٍ يَجُرُّ شَعْرَهُ مُسَلْسَلٌ فِي الْأَغْلَالِ قُلْتُ مَنْ أَنْتَ؟ قَالَ أَنَا الدَّجَّالُ قَالَ خَرَجَ فِي الْأُمِّيِّينَ رَسُولُهُمْ؟ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَأَطَاعُوهُ أَمْ عَصَوْهُ؟ قُلْتُ بَلْ أَطَاعُوهُ قَالَ ذَلِكَ خَيْرٌ لَهُمْ

✧ The Prophet ﷺ sat for the last evening prayer until the people slept, then he came out and said, "A conversation that Tamim al-Dari related to me held me back, about a man who was on an island. There he saw a woman dragging her hair. He said, 'What are you?' She said, 'I am the Jassasah. Are you surprised at me? Go to that palace.' So he went, and there was a man dragging his hair, chained in fetters. I said, 'Who are you?' He said, 'I am the Dajjal.' He said, 'Has their messenger appeared among the unlettered people?' I said, 'Yes.' He said, 'Did they obey him or disobey him?' I said, 'Rather they obeyed him.' He said, 'That is better for them.'"
