حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ أَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ فَرُّوخٍ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ الزُّرَقِيِّ عَنْ زُرْعَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا وَعِنْدَهَا شُبْرُمٍ تَدُقُّهُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «مَا تَصْنَعِينَ بِهَذَا؟» فَقَالَتْ يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ أَسْقِيهِ فُلَانًا فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «إِنَّهُ دَاءٌ» وَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا وَمَعَهَا سَنِّيٌّ فَقَالَ مَا تَصْنَعِينَ بِهَذَا؟ فَقَالَتْ يَشْرَبُهُ فُلَانٌ فَقَالَ «لَوْ أَنَّ شَيْئًا يَنْبَغِي أَنْ يَدْفَعَ الْمَوْتَ لَدَفَعَ السَّنِّيُّ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered upon her while she had some spurge that she was crushing. The Prophet ﷺ said, "What are you doing with this?" She said, "O Prophet of Allah, I will give it to so-and-so to drink." The Prophet ﷺ said, "It is a disease." Then he entered upon her while she had some senna with her. He said, "What are you doing with this?" She said, "So-and-so will drink it." He said, "If anything could ward off death, senna would ward it off."
