حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ السَّدُوسِيُّ ثنا عَاصِمُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ثنا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ قَالَتْ

أَتَيْتُ عَائِشَةَ فَإِذَا النَّاسُ قِيَامٌ وَإِذَا هِيَ تُصَلِّي فَقُلْتُ مَا شَأْنُ النَّاسِ؟ فَأَشَارَتْ بِيَدِهَا إِلَى السَّمَاءِ وَقَالَتْ سُبْحَانَ اللهِ فَقُلْتُ آيَةٌ؟ فَأَشَارَتْ بِرَأْسِهَا أَيْ نَعَمْ قَالَتْ فَقُمْتُ حَتَّى تَجَلَّانِي الْغَشْيُ فَجَعَلْتُ أَصُبُّ عَلَى رَأْسِي الْمَاءَ قَالَتْ فَحَمِدَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ اللهُ ﷻ وَأثْنَى عَلَيْهِ حِينَ انْصَرَفَ وَقَالَ مَا مِنْ شَيْءٍ لَمْ أَكُنْ رَأَيْتُهُ إِلَّا قَدْ رَأَيْتُهُ فِي مَقَامِي هَذَا حَتَّى الْجَنَّةِ وَالنَّارِ وَإِنَّهُ قَدْ أُوحِيَ إِلَى أَنَّكُمْ تُفْتَنُونَ فِي الْقُبُورِ مِثْلَ أَوْ قَرِيبًا لَا أَدْرِي أَيَّ ذَلِكَ قَالَتْ أَسْمَاءُ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَسِيحِ الدَّجَّالِ يُؤْتَى أَحَدُكُمْ فَيُقَالُ لَهُ مَا عِلْمُكَ بِهَذَا الرَّجُلِ؟ فَالْمُؤْمِنُ أَوِ الْمُوقِنُ لَا أَدْرِي أَيَّ ذَلِكَ قَالَتْ أَسْمَاءُ فَيَقُولُ هُوَ مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ اللهِ جَاءَنَا بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ وَالْهُدَى فَأَجَبْنَا وَاتَّبَعْنَا فَيُقَالُ قَدْ عَلِمْنَا أَنْ كُنْتَ لَمُؤْمِنًا بِهِ يَقُولُهَا ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ وَأَمَّا الْمُنَافِقُ أَوِ الْمُرْتَابُ لَا أَدْرِي أَيَّ ذَلِكَ قَالَتْ أَسْمَاءُ فَيَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ النَّاسَ يَقُولُونَ شَيْئًا فَقُلْتُ

✧ I came to A’ishah and the people were standing and she was praying. I said, “What is wrong with the people?” She gestured with her hand toward the sky and said, “Glory be to God.” I said, “A sign?” She gestured with her head, meaning yes. She said: I stood until faintness nearly overcame me, and I began pouring water over my head. She said: When the Prophet ﷺ finished, he praised God ﷻ and extolled Him, and said, “There is nothing that I had not seen except that I have seen it in this station of mine, even Paradise and Hellfire. It has been revealed to me that you will be tested in the graves with a trial like or close to — I do not know which Asma’ said — the trial of the Messiah the Dajjal. One of you will be approached and asked, ‘What knowledge do you have of this man?’ The believer or the one who is certain — I do not know which Asma’ said — will say, ‘He is Muhammad, the Messenger of God. He came to us with clear proofs and guidance, and we responded and followed.’ Then it will be said, ‘We already knew that you were a believer in him,’ saying it three times. As for the hypocrite or the doubter — I do not know which Asma’ said — he will say, ‘I heard people saying something, so I said it.’”
