حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فَضَاءٍ الْجَوْهَرِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ حِسَابٍ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ قَالَتْ
«كُنْتُ أَخْدُمُ الزُّبَيْرَ وَكَانَ لَهُ فَرَسٌ وَكُنْتُ أَسُوسُهُ فَلَمْ يَكُنْ مِنَ الْخِدْمَةِ شَيْءٌ أَشَدَّ عَلِيَّ مِنْ سِيَاسَةِ الْفَرَسِ كُنْتُ أَحْتَشُّ لَهُ وَأَقُومُ عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ إِنِّي أَصَبْتُ خَادِمًا جَاءَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ سَبْيٌ فَأَعْطَانِي خَادِمًا وكَفَتْنِي سِيَاسَةَ الْفَرَسِ فَأَلْقَتْ عَنِّي مُؤْنَتَهُ»

✧ "I used to serve al-Zubayr, and he had a horse which I tended. There was no service harder for me than tending the horse: I used to gather grass for it and care for it. Then I obtained a servant when captives came to the Prophet ﷺ, and he gave me a servant, who relieved me of tending the horse and removed that burden from me."
