حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ ثنا أَبُو عُمَرَ الضَّرِيرُ حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ سُمَيَّةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

وَجَدَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى صَفِيَّةَ فِي شَيْءٍ فَقَالَتْ لِي صَفِيَّةُ هَلْ لَكِ أَنْ تُرْضِي رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِّي فَلَكِ يَوْمِي فَلَبِسْتُ خِمَارًا كَانَتْ لِي مَصْبُوغًا بِزَعْفَرَانٍ وَنَضَحْتُهُ بِمَاءٍ ثُمَّ جِئْتُ فَجَلَسْتُ إِلَى جَنْبِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ لِي «إِلَيْكِ عَنِّي فَإِنَّهُ لَيْسَ بِيَوْمِكِ» فَقُلْتُ ذَلِكَ فَضْلُ اللهِ يُؤْتِيهِ مَنْ يَشَاءُ وَأَخْبَرْتُهُ الْخَبَرَ فَرَضِيَ عَنْهَا

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was upset with Safiyyah over something. Safiyyah said to me, 'Would you like to make the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pleased with me? Then my day will be yours.' So I put on a veil of mine dyed with saffron and sprinkled it with water, then came and sat beside the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said to me, 'Move away from me, for it is not your day.' I said, 'That is the bounty of Allah; He gives it to whom He wills,' and I told him the matter, and he became pleased with her.
