✧ When food was brought to the Prophet ﷺ and he ate from it, he would send the leftovers to Abu Ayyub. Abu Ayyub used to seek the traces of the Prophet's ﷺ fingers, placing his fingers where he saw the Prophet's ﷺ fingers. One day a dish was brought to the Messenger of God ﷺ, and he found in it the smell of garlic, so he did not eat from it and sent it to Abu Ayyub. Abu Ayyub did not see in it the traces of the Prophet's ﷺ fingers, so he said, “O Messenger of God, I did not see in it the traces of your fingers.” He said, “I found in it the smell of garlic.” He said, “You sent me what you do not eat?” He said, “The angel comes to me.”
