حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ ثنا أَبُو عُمَرَ الضَّرِيرُ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْأَسْفَاطِيُّ ثنا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ قَالَا ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ سَمُرَةَ

أَنَّ رَجُلًا كَانَ بِالْحَرَّةِ وَمَعَهُ امْرَأَةٌ لَهُ فَأَضَلَّ رَجُلٌ بَعِيرًا لَهُ فَوَجَدَهُ الرَّجُلُ الَّذِي بِالْحَرَّةِ فَحَبَسَهُ عِنْدَهُ وَمَرِضَ الْبَعِيرُ فَقَالَتْ لَهُ امْرَأَتُهُ لَوْ ذَبَحْتَهُ وقَدَدْنَا لَحْمَهُ وشَحْمَهُ فأَكَلْنَاها فَأَبَى عَلَيْهَا حَتَّى مَاتَ فَأَتَى رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَخْبَرَهُ فَقَالَ هَلْ لَكُمُ شَيْءٌ يُعِيشُكُمْ غَيْرَ ذَلِكَ؟ أَوْ قَالَ «هَلْ عِنْدَكَ شَيْءٌ يُعِيشُكَ غَيْرَ ذَلِكَ؟» قَالَ لَا قَالَ «فَقَدِّدُوا شَحْمَهُ وَلَحْمَهُ وَكُلُوهُ» وَجَاءَ صَاحِبُ الْبَعِيرِ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ هَلَّا كُنْتَ نَحَرْتَهُ؟ فَقَالَ اسْتَحْيَيْتُ مِنْكَ

✧ A man was in the Harrah with a wife of his, and another man lost a camel of his. The man in the Harrah found it and kept it with him. The camel fell ill, and his wife said to him, “If only you would slaughter it, and we could cut its meat and fat into strips and eat it.” He refused her until it died. Then he came to the Messenger of God ﷺ and told him. He said, “Do you have anything to sustain you besides that?” or he said, “Do you have anything to sustain you besides that?” He said, “No.” He said, “Cut its fat and meat into strips and eat it.” Later the owner of the camel came and said, “Why did you not slaughter it?” He said, “I felt ashamed before you.”
