حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عِيسَى بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْوَهْبِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ عَنْ مَرْثَدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْيَزَنِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْجُهَنِيِّ قَالَ

بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ إِذْ طَلَعَ رَاكِبَانِ فَلَمَّا رَآهُمَا قَالَ «كِنْدِيَّانِ مَذْحِجِيَّانِ» فَلَمَّا أَتَيَاهُ فَإِذَا رَجُلَانِ مِنْ مَذْحِجٍ فَدَنَا أَحَدُهُمَا لِيُبَايِعَهُ فَلَمَّا أَخَذَ بِيَدِهِ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَرَأَيْتَ مَنْ رَآكَ فَآمَنَ بِكَ وَصَدَّقَكَ فَاتَّبَعَكَ؟ مَاذَا لَهُ؟ قَالَ «طُوبَى لَهُ» قَالَ «ثُمَّ مَسَحَ عَلَى يَدِهِ فَانْصَرَفَ»

✧ While we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, two riders appeared. When he saw them, he said: "Two Kindis, two Madhhijis." When they came to him, they were indeed two men from Madhhij. One of them drew near to give him the oath of allegiance. When he took his hand, he said: "O Messenger of Allah, what about one who saw you, believed in you, confirmed you, and followed you? What will he have?" He said: "Tuba (glad tidings) for him." He said: "Then he wiped over his hand and departed."
