حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثنا يَحْيَى الْحِمَّانِيُّ ثنا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ وشَرِيكٌ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ وَائِلٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

جَاءَ يَزِيدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَهُوَ يَخْطُبُ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ كَانَ عَلَيْنَا قَوْمٌ يَأْخُذُونَا بِالْحَقِّ وَيَمْنَعُونَا حَقَّ اللهِ؟ فَسَكَتَ عَنْهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَلَمْ يُجِبْهُ ثُمَّ عَادَ الثَّانِيَةَ فَلَمْ يُجِبْهُ ثُمَّ عَادَ الثَّالِثَةَ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «عَلَيْهِ مَا حَمَلَ وَعَلَيْكُمْ مَا حُمِّلْتُمْ وَإِنْ تُطِيعُوهُ تَهْتَدُوا فَاسْمَعُوا لَهُ وَأَطِيعُوا»

✧ Yazid b. Salama came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was delivering a sermon and said, “O Messenger of God, what do you think if there are people over us who take from us what is rightfully due but deny us the right of God?” The Prophet ﷺ remained silent and did not answer him. Then he repeated it a second time, and he did not answer him. Then he repeated it a third time, and the Prophet ﷺ said, “Upon him is what he bears, and upon you is what you bear. If you obey him, you will be guided, so listen to him and obey.”
