حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ
ثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ ثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا خَرَجَ فِي بَعْضِ أَسْفَارِهِ وَكَانَ إِذَا ذَهَبَ أَبْعَدَ وَأَمَرَنِي أَنْ أَتَّبِعَهُ بِوَضُوءٍ فَجَاءَ وَعَلَيْهِ جُبَّةٌ شَامِيَّةٌ فَأَخْرَجَ يَدَهُ مِنْ تَحْتِهَا فَتَوَضَّأَ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ

✧ Al-Qaʿnabī narrated to us: ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz b. Muḥammad narrated to us, from Muḥammad b. ʿAmr, from Abū Salamah, from al-Mughīrah b. Shuʿbah: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ, when he went out on one of his journeys—and when he went to relieve himself, he would go far—told me to follow him with water for ablution. He came wearing a Syrian jubba, brought his hand out from beneath it, performed ablution, and wiped over his leather socks.
