حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ ثَنَا مِسْعَرُ بْنُ كِدَامٍ عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ عِلَاقَةَ عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ قَالَ
ضِفْت بِآلِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَجَزَّ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ مِنْ جَنْبِ شَاةٍ بِالشَّفْرَةِ فَأَذَّنَ بِلَالٌ بِالْفَجْرِ فَأَلْقَى الشَّفْرَةَ وَقَالَ «مَا لَهُ تَرِبَتْ يَدَاهُ؟» وَكَانَ شَارِبِي طَوِيلًا قَدْ وَفَي فَقَالَ «أَقُصُّهُ لَكَ؟» فَقَصَّهُ عَلَى سِوَاكٍ

✧ I sat with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and the Messenger of Allah cut for me from the side of a sheep with a knife. Bilal called the Adhan for Fajr prayer, so he threw the knife and said, "Why do his hands not have soil on them?" My mustache was long, and I had fulfilled my vow, so he said, "Shall I trim it for you?" So he trimmed it on a siwak stick.
