حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثنا زُهَيْرٌ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ بْنِ رَافِعٍ عَنْ تَمِيمِ بْنِ طَرَفَةَ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ خَرَجَ عَلَيْهِمْ أُرَاهُ قَالَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ وَهُمْ رَافِعُوا أَيْدِيهِمْ وَقَالَ «مَا لِي أَرَاكُمْ رَافِعِي أَيْدِيكُمْ كَأَنَّهَا أَذْنَابُ خَيْلٍ شُمُسٍ اسْكُنُوا فِي الصَّلَاةِ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to them—I think he said in the mosque—while they were raising their hands, and he said: “What is the matter with me, seeing you raising your hands as if they were the tails of restive horses? Be still during the prayer.”
