حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا الْغَلَابِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ رَجَاءٍ ثنا عُمَرُ بْنُ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَبِي السَّفَرِ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ كُنَّا فِي مَسِيرٍ فَقَالَ
لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَمَعَكَ مَاءٌ؟» قُلْتُ نَعَمْ فَنَزَلَ عَنْ رَاحِلَتِهِ ثُمَّ مَشَى حَتَّى تَوَارَى عَنِّي فَلَمَّا أَقْبَلَ اسْتَقْبَلْتُهُ بِالْمِطْهَرَةِ فَتَوَضَّأَ وَغَسَلَ كَفَّيْهِ وَغَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ وَكَانَتْ عَلَيْهِ جُبَّةٌ شَامِيَّةٌ ضَيِّقَةُ الْيَدَيْنِ فَأَخْرَجَ يَدَهُ مِنْ تَحْتِ الْجُبَّةِ وَغَسَلَ ذِرَاعَيْهِ وَمَسَحَ بِرَأْسِهِ ثُمَّ أَهْوَيْتُ إِلَى خُفَّيْهِ لِأَنْزِعَهُمَا فَقَالَ «دَعْهُمَا فَإِنِّي أَدْخَلْتُهُمَا وَهُمَا طَاهِرَتَانِ» فَمَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me, "Do you have any water with you?" I said, "Yes." So he dismounted from his riding camel, then walked until he was hidden from me. When he returned, I met him with the water vessel, and he performed ablution: he washed his palms and his face. He was wearing a Syrian jubba with tight sleeves, so he took his hand out from under the jubba and washed his forearms, then wiped his head. Then I reached for his leather socks to remove them, and he said, "Leave them, for I put them on while they were pure." Then he wiped over his leather socks.
