حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ حَدَّثَنِي وَهْبُ بْنُ بَقِيَّةَ أَنَا خَالِدٌ عَنِ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ عَنْ حَيَّانَ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ مَاعِزٍ قَالَ
سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ «الْإِيمَانُ بِاللهِ وَالْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِهِ» ثُمَّ أَرْعَدَتْ ثُمَّ قَالَ مَهْ؟ قَالَ «ثُمَّ عَمَلٌ هُوَ أَفْضَلُ مِنْ سَائِرِ الْأَعْمَالِ إِلَّا كَمَثَلِ حَجَّةٍ بَارَّةٍ»

✧ A man asked the Prophet ﷺ: Which deeds are best? He said: “Faith in God and jihad in His path.” Then [the man’s thigh] trembled, and he said: Then what? He said: “Then a deed that is better than all other deeds, except like an accepted Hajj.”
