✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took me until we climbed Uḥud and looked over Madinah. He said: 'Woe to its mother, a town whose people will abandon it when it is most flourishing! The Dajjāl will come to it and will find at every one of its entrances an angel with a drawn sword.' Then he descended until he came to the mosque, and there was a man standing and praying and reciting. He said: 'Do you see him? That is ʿAbd Allāh b. Qays. He is indeed an awwāh (one who sighs much in prayer), a forbearing man.' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, shall I give him the good news?' He said: 'Beware, do not let him hear you, for you will destroy him.' Then he descended further, and when we reached the mosque, we found Burayda al-Aslamī at one of the gates of the mosque. In the mosque there was a man who prolonged his prayer, and Burayda was a man who liked to joke. He said: 'O Miḥjan, will you not pray as Sukba prays?' He did not answer him, and returned. When he came to his house, he said: 'The best of our religion is its easiest; the best of your religion is its easiest; the best of your religion is its easiest; the best of your religion is its easiest' — three times.
