حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ وَدَاوُدَ بْنِ قَيْسٍ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ عَنِ ابْنِ مِحْجَنٍ الدِّيلِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ
صَلَّيْتُ الظُّهْرَ أَوِ الْعَصْرَ فِي بَيْتِي ثُمَّ جِئْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَجَلَسْتُ عِنْدَهُ فَأُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَصَلَّى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَلَمْ أُصَلِّ فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ قَالَ «أَلَسْتَ مُسْلِمًا؟» قُلْتُ بَلَى قَالَ «فَمَا لَكَ لَمْ تُصَلِّ؟» قُلْتُ إِنِّي قَدْ صَلَّيْتُ فِي بَيْتِي فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «إِذَا أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَصَلِّ وَإِنْ كُنْتَ قَدْ صَلَّيْتَ»

✧ I prayed ẓuhr or ʿaṣr in my house, then I came to the Prophet ﷺ and sat with him. The prayer was called, and the Prophet ﷺ prayed, but I did not pray. When he finished, he said: 'Are you not a Muslim?' I said: 'Yes.' He said: 'What is the matter with you that you did not pray?' I said: 'I had already prayed in my house.' The Prophet ﷺ said: 'When the prayer is called, pray even if you have already prayed.'
