حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ دُحَيْمٍ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ ثنا أَبِي ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي فُدَيْكٍ حَدَّثَنِي مُوسَى بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الزَّمْعِيُّ عَنْ عَمَّتِهِ قُرَيْبَةَ بِنْتِ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ أُمِّهَا كَرِيمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمِقْدَادِ عَنْ ضُبَاعَةَ بِنْتِ الزُّبَيْرِ أَنَّهَا أَخْبَرَتْهُ قَالَتْ
ذَهَبَ الْمِقْدَادُ لِحَاجَتِهِ فَدَخَلَ خَرِبَةً فَإِذَا الْجُرَذُ يُخْرِجُ مِنْ جُحْرٍ دِينَارًا دِينَارًا حَتَّى أَخْرَجَ سَبْعَةَ عَشَرَ دِينَارًا ثُمَّ أَخْرَجَ طَرَفَ خِرْقَةٍ خَضْرَاءَ قَالَ الْمِقْدَادُ فَقُمْتُ فَمَدَدْتُ طَرَفَ الْخِرْقَةِ فَوَجَدْتُ فِيهَا دِينَارًا فَكَانَتْ ثَمَانِيَةَ عَشَرَ دِينَارًا فَذَهَبَ بِهَا الْمِقْدَادُ وَاسْتَأْذَنَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَلَمَّا دَخَلَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَخْبَرَهُ خَبَرَهَا وَقَالَ خُذْ صَدَقَتَهَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «هَلْ أَهْوَيْتَ بِيَدِكَ إِلَى الْجُحْرِ» ؟ قَالَ الْمِقْدَادُ لَا وَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ لِلْمِقْدَادِ «بَارَكَ اللهُ لَكَ فِيهَا»

✧ Al-Miqdad went to relieve himself and entered a ruin. There was a rat bringing out from a hole a dinar, dinar by dinar, until it brought out seventeen dinars. Then it brought out the end of a green cloth. Al-Miqdad said: I stood up and pulled the end of the cloth, and I found in it a dinar, making eighteen dinars. Al-Miqdad took them and sought permission to enter upon the Prophet ﷺ. When he entered upon the Prophet ﷺ, he told him the story and said: Take its charity, O Messenger of Allah. The Prophet ﷺ said: “Did you reach your hand into the hole?” Al-Miqdad said: No, by the One who sent you with the truth. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to al-Miqdad: “May Allah bless you in them.”
