✧ "Blessed are these two eyes that saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. By Allah, I wish we had seen what you saw and witnessed what you witnessed." He turned to him and said: "What makes a man wish for a gathering that Allah has kept him from, when he does not know how he would have been had he witnessed it? By Allah, there were people present with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ whom Allah will cast on their faces into Hell—they did not answer him nor believe him. Will Allah not deprive one of you? Do you not recognize the favors of your Lord, believing in what your Prophet ﷺ brought? You have been spared affliction through others. By Allah, the Prophet ﷺ was sent in the harshest condition in which any prophet was sent—in a period of cessation and ignorance, when they saw no religion superior to idol worship. He came with a criterion that distinguished between truth and falsehood and separated a father from his child, until a man would see his father, son, or brother as a disbeliever, and Allah had opened the lock of his heart to faith, and he would know that whoever enters the Fire has perished. His eye would not be pleased while he knows that his close friend is in the Fire. And indeed it is that which Allah, exalted is He, said: {Our Lord, grant us from our spouses and offspring comfort to our eyes}."
