حَدَّثَنَا الْمِقْدَامُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ثنا أَسَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثنا مُبَارَكُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ مَعْقِلِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ الْمُزَنِيِّ
أَنَّهُ زَوَّجَ أُخْتَهُ رَجُلًا عَلَى عَهْدِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَكَانَتْ عِنْدَهُ مَا كَانَتْ ثُمَّ طَلَّقَهَا تَطْلِيقَةً فَلَمْ يُرَاجِعْهَا حَتَّى انْقَضَتِ الْعِدَّةَ فَهَوَاهَا وَهَوَتْهُ ثُمَّ خَطَبَهَا مَعَ الْخُطَّابِ فَقَالَ لَهُ «يَا لُكَعُ أَكْرَمْتُكَ بِهَا وَزَوَّجْتُكَهَا فَطَلَّقْتَهَا وَاللهِ لَا تَرْجِعُ إِلَيْكَ أَبَدًا آخَرُ مَا عَلَيْكَ» فَعَلِمَ اللهُ حَاجَتَهُ إِلَيْهَا وَحَاجَتُهَا إِلَيْهِ فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ ﷻ {وَإِذَا طَلَّقْتُمُ النِّسَاءَ فَبَلَغْنَ أَجَلَهُنَّ فَلَا تَعْضُلُوهُنَّ أَنْ يَنْكِحْنَ أَزْوَاجَهُنَّ إِذَا تَرَاضَوْا بَيْنَهُمْ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ} إِلَى آخِرِ الْآيَةِ فَلَمَّا سَمِعَهَا مَعْقِلٌ قَالَ «سَمْعًا لِرَبِّي وَطَاعَةً» ثُمَّ دَعَاهُ فَقَالَ «أُزَوِّجُكَ وَأُكْرِمُكُ»

✧ That he married his sister to a man in the time of the Prophet ﷺ. She remained with him as long as she did, then he divorced her with a single divorce and did not take her back until the waiting period ended. Then he desired her and she desired him. He proposed to her along with the other suitors. So [Ma'qil] said to him: 'O you wretch! I honored you with her and married you to her, then you divorced her. By Allah, she will never return to you, ever, for the rest of your life.' But Allah knew his need for her and her need for him, so Allah, the Exalted, revealed: {And when you divorce women and they have fulfilled their term, do not prevent them from remarrying their husbands when they have agreed between themselves on reasonable terms} to the end of the verse. When Ma'qil heard it, he said: 'I hear and obey my Lord.' Then he called him and said: 'I will marry you to her and honor you.'
