حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ وُهَيْبٍ الْغَزِّيِّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي السَّرِيِّ ثنا رِشْدِينُ عَنْ زَبَّانَ بْنِ فَايِدٍ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ مُعَاذِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ
أَنَّ امْرَأَةً أَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ إِنَّ زَوْجِي انْطَلَقَ غَازِيًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ وَكُنْتُ أَقْتَدِي بِصَلَاتِهِ إِذَا صَلَّى وَبِفِعْلِهِ فَأَخْبِرْنِي بِعَمَلٍ يُبلِّغُنِي عَمَلَهُ حَتَّى يَرْجِعَ؟ قَالَ لَهَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «أَتَسْتَطِيعِينَ أَنْ تَقُومِي فَلَا تَقْعُدِي وَتَذْكُرِي فَلَا تَفْتُرِي وَتَصُومِي وَلَا تُفْطِرِي حَتَّى يَرْجِعَ؟» فَقَالَتْ مَا أَسْتَطِيعُ هَذَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَ «فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَوْ فَعَلْتِ مَا بَلَغْتِ الْعُشْرَ مِنْ عَمَلِهِ حَتَّى يَرْجِعَ»

✧ A woman came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, “My husband has gone out as a warrior in the path of God, and I used to follow his prayer when he prayed and his actions. So tell me of a deed that will make me reach his deed until he returns.” The Prophet ﷺ said to her, “Can you stand without sitting, remember without slackening, and fast without breaking the fast until he returns?” She said, “I cannot do that, O Messenger of God.” He said, “By Him in whose hand is my soul, if you did that, you would not reach a tenth of his deed until he returns.”
