حَدَّثَنَا الْمِقْدَامُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ثنا أَسَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثنا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ أَنَّ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنَ يَحْيَى الْمَعَافِرِيَّ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ مُعَاذِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ حَمَى مُؤْمِنًا مِنْ مُنَافِقٍ يَغْتَابُهُ بَعَثَ اللهُ مَلَكًا يَحْمِي لَحْمَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مِنْ نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ وَمَنْ قَفَّا مُسْلِمًا بِشَيْءٍ يُرِيدُ شَيْنَهُ بِهِ حَبَسَهُ اللهُ عَلَى جِسْرِ جَهَنَّمَ حَتَّى يَخْرُجَ مِمَّا قَالَ»

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ said: "Whoever protects a believer from a hypocrite who backbites him, God will send an angel to protect his flesh on the Day of Resurrection from the fire of Hell. And whoever slanders a Muslim with something intending to disgrace him by it, God will detain him on the bridge of Hell until he comes out of what he said."
