حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ثنا جَرِيرٌ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي ظَبْيَانَ عَنْ مُعَاذٍ أَنَّهُ قَدِمَ مِنَ الْيَمَنِ قَالَ
فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي قَدِمْتُ مِنْ عِنْدِ قَوْمٍ يَسْجُدُ بَعْضُهُمْ لِبَعْضٍ أَفَلَا نَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ لَكَ؟ قَالَ «لَوْ كُنْتُ آمُرُ بَشَرًا أَنْ يَسْجُدَ لِبَشَرٍ لَأَمَرْتُ النِّسَاءَ أَنْ يَسْجُدْنَ لِأَزْوَاجِهِنِّ»

✧ I said, “O Messenger of God, I have come from a people who prostrate to one another. Should we not do that for you?” He said, “If I were to command a human being to prostrate to a human being, I would command women to prostrate to their husbands.”
