حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثنا فِطْرُ بْنُ خَلِيفَةَ عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ وَالْحَكَمِ عَنْ مَيْمُونِ بْنِ أَبِي شَبِيبٍ عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ قَالَ
خَرَجْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكٍ فَرَأَيْتُ خَلْوَةً فَاغْتَنَمْتُهَا فَأَوْضَعْتُ بَعِيرِي نَحْوَهُ حَتَّى سَايَرْتُهُ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ عَلِّمْنِي عَمَلًا يُدْخِلُنِي الْجَنَّةَ فَقَالَ لَقَدْ سَأَلْتَ عَظِيمًا وَإِنَّهُ لَيَسِيرٌ عَلَى مَنْ يَسَّرَهُ اللهُ عَلَيْهِ تَعْبُدُ اللهَ وَلَا تُشْرِكُ بِهِ شَيْئًا وَتُقِيمُ الصَّلَاةَ الْمَكْتُوبَةَ وَتُؤَدِّي الزَّكَاةَ الْمَفْرُوضَةَ وَتَصُومُ رَمَضَانَ ثُمَّ سَارَ وَسِرْتُ

✧ I went out with the Messenger of God ﷺ in the expedition of Tabuk. I saw a private moment and seized it, so I urged my camel toward him until I drew alongside him. I said, 'O Messenger of God, teach me a deed that will admit me to the Garden.' He said, 'You have asked about something great, yet it is easy for whomever God makes it easy. You worship God and do not associate anything with Him, you establish the obligatory prayer, you pay the obligatory zakat, and you fast Ramadan.' Then he moved on and I moved on.
