حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ ثنا قَبِيصَةُ بْنُ عُقْبَةَ ثنا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي الْوَرْدِ عَنِ اللَّجْلَاجِ عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ قَالَ
مَرَّ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بِرَجُلٍ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الصَّبْرَ قَالَ «سَأَلْتَ اللهَ الْبَلَاءَ فَسَلْهُ الْعَافِيَةَ» وَمَرَّ عَلَى رَجُلٍ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ يَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ قَالَ «قَدِ اسْتُجِيبَ لَكَ» وَمَرَّ بِرَجُلٍ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ تَمَامَ نِعْمَتِكَ فَقَالَ «أَتَدْرِي مَا تَمَامُ النِّعْمَةِ؟» فَقَالَ دَعْوَةٌ دَعَوْتُ بِهَا أَرْجُو الْخَيْرَ قَالَ «فَإِنَّ مِنْ تَمَامِ النِّعْمَةِ الْعَوْذَ مِنَ النَّارِ وَدُخُولَ الْجَنَّةِ»

✧ The Prophet ﷺ passed by a man who was saying: “O Allah, I ask You for patience.” He said: “You have asked Allah for affliction, so ask Him for well-being.” He passed by a man who was saying: “O Possessor of majesty and honor.” He said: “Your supplication has been answered.” He passed by a man who was saying: “O Allah, I ask You for the completion of Your blessing.” He said: “Do you know what the completion of blessing is?” He replied: “A supplication I made, hoping for good.” He said: “Part of the completion of blessing is seeking refuge from the Fire and entering Paradise.”
