حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْفِرْيَابِيُّ ثنا حَبَّانُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثنا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيِّ عَنِ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي الْوَرْدِ عَنِ اللَّجْلَاجِ عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ مَرَّ بِرَجُلٍ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الصَّبْرَ فَقَالَ «قَدْ سَأَلْتَ اللهَ الْبَلَاءَ فَسَلِ اللهَ الْعَافِيَةَ» وَمَرَّ بِرَجُلٍ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ يَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ فَقَالَ «قَدِ اسْتُجِيبَ لَكَ فَسَلْ» وَمَرَّ بِرَجُلٍ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ تَمَامَ النِّعْمَةِ فَقَالَ «ابْنَ آدَمَ أَتَدْرِي مَا تَمَامُ النِّعْمَةِ؟» قَالَ دَعْوَةٌ دَعَوْتُ بِهَا أَرْجُو بِهَا الْخَيْرَ قَالَ «تَمَامُ النِّعْمَةِ دُخُولُ الْجَنَّةِ وَالنَّجَاةُ مِنَ النَّارِ»

✧ The Prophet ﷺ passed by a man who was saying: “O Allah, I ask You for patience.” He said: “You have asked Allah for affliction, so ask Allah for well-being.” He passed by a man who was saying: “O Possessor of majesty and honor.” He said: “Your supplication has been answered, so ask.” He passed by a man who was saying: “O Allah, I ask You for the completion of Your blessing.” He said: “Son of Adam, do you know what the completion of blessing is?” He replied: “A supplication I made, hoping for good through it.” He said: “The completion of blessing is entering Paradise and deliverance from the Fire.”
