حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ مَرْثَدٍ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ عَيَّاشٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ عَيَّاشٍ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنِ الْمِسْوَرِ بْنِ مَخْرَمَةَ قَالَ
خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى أَصْحَابِهِ فَقَالَ إِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ بَعَثَنِي رَحْمَةً لِلنَّاسِ كَافَّةً فَأَدُّوا عَنِّي يَرْحَمْكُمُ اللهُ وَلَا تَخْتَلِفُوا كَمَا اخْتَلَفَ الْحَوَارِيُّونَ عَلَى عِيسَى عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ فَإِنَّهُ دَعَاهُمْ إِلَى مِثْلِ مَا أَدْعُوكُمْ إِلَيْهِ فَأَمَّا مَنْ قَرُبَ مَكَانُهُ فَإِنَّهُ أَجَابَ وَأَسْلَمَ وَأَمَّا مَنْ بَعُدَ مَكَانُهُ فَكَرِهَهُ فَشَكَا عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ ذَلِكَ إِلَى اللهِ ﷻ فَأَصْبَحُوا وَكُلُّ رَجُلٍ مِنْهُمْ يَتَكَلَّمُ بِلِسَانِ الْقَوْمِ الَّذِينَ وُجِّهَ إِلَيْهِمْ فَقَالَ لَهُمْ عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ هَذَا أَمَرٌ قَدْ عَزَمَ اللهُ لَكُمْ عَلَيْهِ فَامْضُوا فَافْعَلُوا فَقَالَ أَصْحَابُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ نَحْنُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ نُؤَدِّي عَنْكَ فابْعَثْنَا حَيْثُ شِئْتَ فَبَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ حُذَافَةَ إِلَى كِسْرَى وَبَعَثَ سَلِيطَ بْنَ عَمْرٍو إِلَى هَوْذَةَ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ صَاحِبِ الْيَمَامَةِ وَبَعَثَ الْعَلَاءَ بْنَ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ إِلَى الْمُنْذِرِ بْنِ سَاوَى صَاحِبِ هَجَرَ وَبَعَثَ عَمْرَو بْنَ الْعَاصِ إِلَى جَيْفَرَ وَعَبَّادِ ابْنِي جَلَنْدَا مَلِكَيْ عُمَانَ وَبَعَثَ دِحْيَةَ الْكَلْبِيَّ إِلَى قَيْصَرَ وَبَعَثَ شُجَاعَ بْنَ وَهْبٍ الْأَسَدِيَّ إِلَى الْمُنْذِرِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ أَبِي شِمْرٍ الْغَسَّانِيِّ وَبَعَثَ عَمْرَو بْنَ أُمَيَّةَ الضَّمْرِيَّ إِلَى النَّجَاشِيِّ فَرَجَعُوا جَمِيعًا قَبْلَ وَفَاةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ غَيْرَ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ تُوُفِّيَ وَهُوَ بِالْبَحْرَيْنِ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out to his companions and said: "Allah ﷻ sent me as a mercy to all people, so convey on my behalf, may Allah have mercy on you, and do not differ as the disciples differed concerning 'Isa ﷺ. He called them to the like of what I call you to. As for those whose place was near, they answered and submitted. As for those whose place was far, they disliked it, so 'Isa ibn Maryam complained of that to Allah ﷻ. Then they woke up and each man among them spoke the language of the people to whom he was sent. 'Isa ibn Maryam ﷺ said to them: 'This is a matter which Allah has firmly resolved for you, so go and do it.' The companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'We, O Messenger of Allah, will convey on your behalf, so send us wherever you wish.' So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent 'Abd Allah b. Hudhafah to Kisra, sent Salit b. 'Amr to Hawdhah b. 'Ali, the ruler of al-Yamamah, sent al-'Ala' b. al-Hadrami to al-Mundhir b. Sawa, the ruler of Hajar, sent 'Amr b. al-'As to Jayfar and 'Abbad, the two sons of al-Julanda, kings of Oman, sent Dihyah al-Kalbi to Caesar, sent Shuja' b. Wahb al-Asadi to al-Mundhir b. al-Harith b. Abi Shimr al-Ghassani, and sent 'Amr b. Umayyah al-Damri to the Negus. They all returned before the death of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, except al-'Ala' b. al-Hadrami, for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ died while he was in al-Bahrayn.
