حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلَوَيهِ الْقَطَّانُ ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عِيسَى الْعَطَّارُ ثنا دَاوُدُ بْنُ الزِّبْرِقَانِ ثنا مَطَرُ الْوَرَّاقُ وَهِشَامُ الدَّسْتُوَائِيُّ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ زُرَارَةَ بْنِ أَوْفَى عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «خَيْرُ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ الْقَرْنُ الَّذِي بُعِثْتُ فِيهِمْ ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ» ثَلَاثًا وَاللهُ أَعْلَمُ ذَكَرَ الثَّالِثَ أَمْ لَا «ثُمَّ يَنْشَأُ قَوْمٌ يَشْهَدُونَ وَلَا يُسْتَشْهَدُونَ وَيَنْذُرُونَ وَلَا يُوفُونَ وَيَخُونُونَ وَلَا يُؤْتَمَنُونَ وَيَفْشُو فِيهِمُ السِّمَنُ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “The best of this ummah is the generation in which I was sent, then those who follow them” – three times, and Allah knows best whether he mentioned the third or not – “then there will arise a people who testify without being asked to testify, make vows but do not fulfill them, betray trusts and are not trusted, and obesity will spread among them.”
