حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ كَيْسَانَ الْمِصِّيصِيُّ ثنا حَبَّانُ بْنُ هِلَالٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا خَلَفُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْكُعْبَرِيُّ ثنا مُعَلَّى بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فَضَاءٍ الْبَصْرِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ الْجُذُوعِيُّ الْقَاضِي ثنا أَبُو كَامِلٍ الْجَحْدَرِيُّ قَالُوا ثنا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ زُرَارَةَ بْنِ أَوْفَى عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ قَالَ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «خَيْرُ أُمَّتِي الْقَرْنُ الَّذِي بُعِثْتُ فِيهِ ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ وَاللهُ أَعْلَمُ ذَكَرَ الثَّالِثَ أَوْلَا ثُمَّ يَنْشَئُونَ قَوْمٌ يَشْهَدُونَ وَلَا يُسْتَشْهَدُونَ وَيَنْذُرُونَ وَلَا يُوفُونَ وَيَخُونُونَ وَلَا يُؤْتَمَنُونَ وَيَفْشُو فِيهِمُ السِّمَنُ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “The best of my ummah is the generation in which I was sent, then those who follow them, then those who follow them – and Allah knows best whether he mentioned the third or not – then there will arise a people who testify without being asked to testify, make vows but do not fulfill them, betray trusts and are not trusted, and obesity will spread among them.”
