حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الْمُهَلَّبِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ
أَنَّ امْرَأَةً مِنْ جُهَيْنَةَ اعْتَرَفَتْ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ بِالزِّنَا وَقَالَتْ إِنِّي حُبْلَى فَدَعَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَلِيَّهَا فَقَالَ «أَحْسِنْ إِلَيْهَا فَإِذَا وَضَعَتْ فَأَخْبَرَنِي» فَفَعَلَ فَأَمَرَ بِهَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَشُكَّتْ عَنْهَا ثِيَابُهَا ثُمَّ أَمَرَ بِرَجْمِهَا فَرُجِمَتْ ثُمَّ صَلَّى عَلَيْهَا فَقَالَ عُمَرُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ تَرْجُمُهَا ثُمَّ تُصَلِّي عَلَيْهَا؟ قَالَ «لَقَدْ تَابَتْ تَوْبَةً لَوْ قُسِمَتْ بَيْنَ سَبْعِينَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ وَسِعَتْهُمْ وَهَلْ وَجَدْتَ أَفْضَلَ مِنْ أَنْ جَادَتْ بِنَفْسِهَا لِلَّهِ ﷻ»

✧ That a woman from Juhaynah confessed adultery before the Prophet ﷺ and said, “I am pregnant.” The Prophet ﷺ called her guardian and said, “Treat her well, and when she gives birth inform me.” He did so, and the Prophet ﷺ ordered that her clothes be fastened around her, then ordered that she be stoned, and she was stoned. Then he prayed over her. ʿUmar said, “O Messenger of Allah, you stone her and then pray over her?” He said, “She has repented with such a repentance that if it were divided among seventy of the people of Madinah it would suffice them. Have you found anything better than her offering her own self to Allah, Mighty and Exalted?”
