حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ التَّمَّارُ ثنا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ ثنا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ قَالَ
كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي مَسِيرٍ وَقَدْ تَقَارَبَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ فَرَفَعَ صَوْتَهُ بِهَاتَيْنِ الْآيَتَيْنِ { يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اتَّقُوا رَبُّكُمْ إِنَّ زَلْزَلَةَ السَّاعَةِ شَيْءٌ عَظِيمٌ يَوْمَ تَرَوْنَهَا تَذْهَلُ كُلُّ مُرْضِعَةٍ عَمَّا أَرْضَعَتْ وَتَضَعُ كُلُّ ذَاتِ حَمْلٍ حَمْلَهَا وَتَرَى النَّاسَ سُكَارَى وَمَا هُمْ بِسُكَارَى وَلَكِنَّ عَذَابَ اللهِ شَدِيدٌ} فَلَمَّا سَمِعَ ذَلِكَ أَصْحَابُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ حَثُّوا الْمَطِيَّ وَعَرَفُوا أَنَّهُ عِنْدَ قَوْلٍ يَقُولُهُ قَالَ «أَتَدْرُونَ أَيُّ يَوْمٍ ذَاكُمْ؟» قَالُوا اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ ذَاكَ يَوْمٌ يُنَادَى آدَمُ فَيُنَادِيهِ رَبُّهُ فَيَقُولُ يَا آدَمُ ابْعَثْ بَعَثَ النَّارِ فَيَقُولُ يَا رَبِّ مِنْ كَمْ؟ قَالَ مِنْ كُلِّ أَلْفٍ تِسْعُمِائةٍ وَتِسْعَةٌ وَتِسْعِينَ إِلَى النَّارِ وَوَاحِدٌ إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ فَأَبْلَسَ الْقَوْمُ حَتَّى مَا ضَحِكُوا بِضَاحِكَةٍ فَلَمَّا رَأَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَا بِأَصْحَابِهِ قَالَ «اعْمَلُوا وَأَبْشِرُوا فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ إِنَّكُمْ لَمَعَ خِلْقَتِينِ مَا كَانَتَا فِي شَيْءٍ قَطُّ إِلَّا أَكْثَرَتَاهُ يَأْجُوجُ وَمَأْجُوجُ وَمَنْ هَلَكَ مِنْ بَنِي آدَمَ» فَسُرِّي عَنِ الْقَوْمِ بَعْضُ الَّذِي يَجِدُونَ ثُمَّ قَالَ «اعْمَلُوا وَأَبْشِرُوا فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ مَا أَنْتُمْ فِي النَّاسِ إِلَّا كَالشَّامَةِ فِي جَنْبِ الْبَعِيرِ أَوْ كَالرَّقْمَةِ فِي ذِرَاعِ الدَّابَّةِ»

✧ We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a journey, and he had drawn close to his companions when he raised his voice with these two verses: 'O mankind, fear your Lord. Indeed, the quaking of the Hour is a tremendous thing. On the Day you see it, every nursing mother will be distracted from what she nurses, and every pregnant woman will deliver her burden, and you will see people appearing drunk while they are not drunk; but the punishment of Allah is severe.' When the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ heard that, they urged on their mounts, knowing that he was about to say something. He said: 'Do you know which day that is?' They said: 'Allah and His Messenger know best.' He said: 'That is a day when Adam will be called, and his Lord will call him and say: O Adam, send forth the delegation of the Fire. He will say: O Lord, from how many? He said: From every thousand, nine hundred and ninety-nine to the Fire and one to the Garden.' The people despaired until they did not even smile. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw what had befallen his companions, he said: 'Work and rejoice, for by the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, you are with two creations that, whenever they are in anything, they increase it greatly: Gog and Magog, and those among the children of Adam who have perished.' Then some of the distress the people were feeling was relieved. Then he said: 'Work and rejoice, for by the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, you are among mankind only like a mole on the side of a camel, or like a mark on the foreleg of a beast.'
