حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الرَّازِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَلْقَمَةَ الْبَيْرُونِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثنا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ
أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ أَعْتَقَ رُءُوسًا سِتَّةً عِنْدَ مَوْتِهِ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ مَالٌ غَيْرُهُمْ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ «فَدَعَا بِهِمْ فَأَقْرَعَ بَيْنَهُمْ فَأَصَابَ اثْنَيْنِ وَرَدَّ أَرْبَعَةً فِي الرِّقِّ»

✧ That a man from the Ansar emancipated six slaves on his deathbed while he had no property other than them, and that reached the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, so he summoned them and cast lots among them, and two were freed while four were returned to slavery.
