حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمَدِينِيِّ ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ نُجَيْدِ بْنِ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ الْحُصَيْنِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ نُجَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ قَالَ
لَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ الْفَتْحِ قَتَلَتْ خُزَاعَةُ رَجُلًا مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ يُقَالُ لَهُ الْحَارِثُ فَأَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ فَقَالَ «أَقَبْلَ النَّهْيِ قَتَلُوهُ أَوْ بَعْدُ؟» فَقَالُوا بَلْ بَعْدُ قَالَ فَأَتَيْنَا النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَأَخْبَرْنَاهُ فَعَقَلْنَاهُ فَكَانَ أَوَّلَ عَقْلٍ كَانَ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ

✧ When it was the Day of the Conquest, Khuza'ah killed a man from Quraysh called al-Harith. I came to the Prophet ﷺ and informed him. He said, "Did they kill him before the prohibition or after it?" They said, "Rather after it." He said: Then we came to the Prophet ﷺ and informed him, and we paid his blood money. It was the first blood money in Islam.
