حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُعَاذٍ عَنْ عُطَارِدِ بْنِ حَاجِبٍ
أَنَّهُ أَهْدَى إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ ثَوْبَ دِيبَاجٍ كَسَاهُ إِيَّاهُ كِسْرَى فَدَخَلَ أَصْحَابُهُ فَقَالُوا أَنَزَلَتْ عَلَيْكَ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ؟ قَالَ «وَمَا تَعْجَبُونَ مِنْ ذَا؟ الْمِنْدِيلُ مِنْ مَنَادِيلَ سَعْدِ بْنِ مُعَاذٍ فِي الْجَنَّةِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ هَذَا» ثُمَّ قَالَ يَا غُلَامُ اذْهَبْ بِهِ إِلَى أَبِي جَهْمِ بْنِ حُذَيْفَةَ وَقُلْ لَهُ يَبْعَثُ إِلَيَّ بِالْخَمِيصَةِ

✧ He gifted to the Prophet ﷺ a silk brocade garment that Kisrā had given him. His companions entered and said, “Has it been sent down upon you from heaven?” He said, “Why do you marvel at this? A handkerchief from among the handkerchiefs of Saʿd b. Muʿādh in Paradise is better than this.” Then he said, “O boy, take it to Abū Jahm b. Ḥudhayfah and tell him to send me the khamīṣah.”
