حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ هَارُونَ ثَنَا أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ الزَّهْرَانِيُّ ثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ قَالَ لَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ هَرَبَ عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ أَبِي جَهْلٍ فَرَكِبَ الْبَحْرَ فَخَبَّ بِهِمُ الْبَحْرُ فَجَعَلَتِ الصَّوَارِي وَمَنْ فِي الْبَحْرِ يَدْعُونَ اللهَ ﷻ وَيَسْتَغِيثونَ بِهِ فَقَالَ
«مَا هَذَا؟» فَقِيلَ مَكَانٌ لَا يَنْفَعُ فِيهِ إلَّا اللهُ فَقَالَ عِكْرِمَةُ «فَهَذَا إِلَهُ مُحَمَّدٍ الَّذِي يَدْعُونَا إِلَيْهِ ارْجِعُوا بِنَا إِلَيْهِ» فَرَجَعَ وَأَسْلَمَ وَكَانَتِ امْرَأَتُهُ قَدْ أَسْلَمَتْ قَبْلَهُ فَكَانَا عَلَى نِكَاحِهِمَا
Translation

✧ "What is this?" It was said: "A place where none but God can benefit." ʿIkrimah said: "Then this is the God of Muḥammad to whom he calls us. Return with us to him." So he returned and became Muslim. His wife had become Muslim before him, and they remained married.
