حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ متوية الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ الْمَدَائِنِيُّ ثَنَا زِيَادُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْبَكَّائِيُّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ ثَوْرِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ جَابِرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَائِذٍ الْأَزْدِيِّ عَنْ عِيَاضِ بْنِ حِمَارٍ الْمُجَاشِعِيِّ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ يَوْمًا أَلَا أُحَدِّثُكُمْ مَا حَدَّثَنِي اللهُ ﷻ بِهِ فِي الْكِتَابِ إِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ خَلَقَ آدَمَ وَبَنِيهِ حُنَفَاءَ مُسْلِمِينَ فَأَعْطَاهُمُ الْمَالَ حَلَالًا لَا حَرَامَ فِيهِ وَعَبَدُوا الطَّوَاغِيتَ وَأَمَرَنِي أَنْ آتِيَهُمْ فَأُبَيِّنُ لَهُمْ الَّذِي جَبَلَهُمْ عَلَيْهِ فَخَاطَبْتُ رَبِّي إِنْ أَتَيْتُهُمْ ثَلَغَتْ قُرَيْشٌ رَأْسِي كَمَا تَثْلَغُ الْخُبْزَةَ فَقَالَ لِي امْضِ أُمْضِكَ وَأَنْفِقْ أُنْفِقْ عَلَيْكَ وَقَاتِلْ مَنْ عَصَاكَ بِمَنْ أَطَاعَكَ فَإِنِّي سَأُعْطِي مَعَ كُلِّ جَيْشٍ تَبْعَثُهُ عَشَرَةً أَمْثَالَهُ مِنَ الْمَلَائِكَةِ وَنَافِخٌ فِي صُدُورِ عَدُوِّكَ الرُّعْبَ وَنُعْطِيكَ كِتَابًا لَا يَمْحُوهُ الْمَاءُ أُذَكِّرُكَهُ نَائِمًا وَيَقْظَانًا فَأَبْصِرُونِي وَقُرَيْشًا وَقُرَيْشًا هَذِهِ فَإِنَّهُمْ دَمُّوا وَجْهِي وَسَلَبُونِي أَهْلِي وَأَنَا مُبَادِئُهُمْ فَإِنْ أَغْلِبْهُمْ يَأْتُوا مَا دَعَوْتُهُمْ إِلَيْهِ طَائِعِينَ أَوْ كَارِهِينَ وَإِنْ يَغْلِبُونِي فَإِنِّي كُنْتُ عَلَى شَيْءٍ أَدْعُوكُمْ إِلَيْهِ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said one day: "Shall I not tell you what Allah, mighty and sublime, told me in the Book? Allah, mighty and sublime, created Adam and his descendants as upright Muslims. He gave them wealth as lawful, with no prohibition in it. They worshipped the false deities. He commanded me to come to them and clarify for them what He had created them upon. I addressed my Lord: 'If I come to them, Quraysh will split my head as a loaf of bread is split.' He said to me: 'Go, and I will make you succeed. Spend, and I will spend on you. Fight those who disobey you with those who obey you. I will give with every army you send ten times its like from the angels, and I will cast terror into the hearts of your enemy. I will give you a Book that water will not erase, which I will remind you of asleep and awake. Look at me and Quraysh, this Quraysh: they wounded my face and robbed me of my family, and I will initiate against them. If I overcome them, they will come to what I called them to, willingly or unwillingly. If they overcome me, then I am upon something to which I call you.'"
