حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ الْعَبَّادَانِيُّ ثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ الْمُؤَدِّبُ ثَنَا عَفَّانُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ قَالَا ثَنَا وَهْبٌ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ قَالَ

أُتِيَ بِالنُّعَيْمَانِ أَوِ ابْنِ النُّعَيْمَانِ وَهُوَ سَكْرَانُ فَشَقَّ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مَشَقَّةً شَدِيدَةً «فَأَمَرَ مَنْ كَانَ فِي الْبَيْتِ أَنْ يَضْرِبُوهُ فَضَرَبُوهُ بِالنِّعَالِ وَالْجَرِيدِ» قَالَ عُقْبَةَ فَكُنْتُ فِيمَنْ ضَرَبَهُ

✧ Al-Nuʿayman, or the son of al-Nuʿayman, was brought while drunk, and this weighed heavily on the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with severe heaviness. He commanded those in the house to beat him, so they beat him with sandals and palm branches. 'Uqbah said, 'I was among those who beat him.'
