حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمَدِينِيِّ ثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ وَأَيُّوبَ بْنِ مُوسَى عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ قَالَ
أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ إِنِّي تَزَوَّجْتُ بِنْتَ أَبِي إِهَابٍ فَجَاءَتِ امْرَأَةٌ سَوْدَاءُ زَعَمَتْ أَنَّهَا أَرْضَعَتْنَا فَأَعْرَضَ عَنِّي فَأَتَيْتُهُ عَنِ الْجَانِبِ الْآخَرِ فَأَعْرَضَ عَنِّي فَاسْتَقْبَلْتُهُ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّهَا سَوْدَاءُ فَجَعَلْتُ أُصَغِّرُ مِنْ شَأْنِهَا فَقَالَ «كَيْفَ وَقَدْ قِيلَ»

✧ I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, 'I married the daughter of Abu Ihab, then a black woman came and claimed that she had suckled us.' He turned away from me, so I approached from the other side and he turned away from me. I faced him and said, 'O Messenger of Allah, she is a black woman' — making light of her claim. He said, 'How [can that be] when it has been said?'
