حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ هَارُونَ ثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ رَاهَوَيْهِ أَخْبَرَنِي عِيسَى ثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنَ عَامِرٍ الْأَسْلَمِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي عَلِيٍّ الْهَمْدَانِيِّ ثُمَامَةَ بْنِ شُفَيٍّ قَالَ كُنَّا مَعَ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ فَحَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَسَأَلْنَا أَنْ يَؤُمَّنَا فَأَبَى عَلَيْنَا
وَقَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَا يَؤُمُّ عَبْدٌ قَوْمًا إلَّا تَوَلَّى مَا عَلَيْهِمْ فِي صَلَاتِهِمْ فَإِنْ أَحْسَنَ فَلَهُ وَلَهُمْ وَإِنْ أَسَاءَ فَعَلَيْهِ وَلَا عَلَيْهِمْ»

✧ And he said: I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say, “No servant leads a people in prayer but that he undertakes what is upon them in their prayer. If he does well, it is for him and for them; and if he errs, it is against him and not against them.”
