حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الرَّقَاشِيُّ ثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ حَرْمَلَةَ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ الْعَلَّافُ ثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ أَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ حَرْمَلَةَ
حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ مَسْكَنُهُ سَنَةً الْإِسْكَنْدَرِيَّةُ قَالَ خَرَجْتُ فِي سَفَرٍ وَمَعَنَا عُقْبَةُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ فَقُلْنَا لَهُ أُمَّنَا فَقَالَ لَسْتُ بِفَاعِلٍ إنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ أَمَّ النَّاسَ فَأَصَابَ الْوَقْتَ وَأَتَمَّ الصَّلَاةَ فَلَهُ وَلَهُمْ وَمَنِ انْتَقَصَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ شَيْئًا فَعَلَيْهِ وَلَا عَلَيْهِمْ»

✧ Abū ʿAlī al-Hamdānī, whose residence was in Alexandria for a year, narrated to me. He said: We went out on a journey, and ʿUqba b. ʿĀmir was with us. We said to him, “Lead us in prayer.” He said, “I will not do so. I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say, ‘Whoever leads the people and gets the time right and completes the prayer, it is for him and for them; and whoever falls short of any of that, it is against him and not against them.’”
