حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ خُلَيْدٍ الْحَلَبِيُّ ثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ الْفَضْلُ بْنُ دُكَيْنٍ ثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنَ عَامِرٍ الْأَسْلَمِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي عَلِيٍّ الْهَمْدَانِيِّ ثُمَامَةَ بْنِ شُفَيٍّ عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَا يَؤُمُّ عَبْدٌ قَوْمًا إِلَّا تَوَلَّى مَا كَانَ عَلَيْهِمْ فِي صَلَاتِهِمْ إِنْ أَحْسَنَ فَلَهُ وَإِنْ أَسَاءَ فَلَهُمْ وَعَلَيْهِ»

Translation

✧ I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say, “No servant leads a people in prayer but that he undertakes whatever is upon them in their prayer. If he does well, it is for him; and if he errs, it is for them and against him.”
