حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الصَّائِغُ الْمَكِّيُّ ثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ثَنَا خَلَفُ بْنُ خَلِيفَةَ عَنْ عَرِيفٍ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ عَنْ يَسِيرِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ
انْطَلَقَ أَبُو مَسْعُودٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ إِلَى هَذَا الْوَجْهِ وَخَرَجْتُ مَعَهُ حَتَّى إِذَا كُنَّا بِالسَّيْلَحِينِ نَزَلَ وَنَزَلْتُ مَعَهُ فَلَمَّا رَأَيْتُهُ قَدْ خَلَا قُمْتُ إِلَيْهِ فَقُلْتُ يَا أَبَا مَسْعُودٍ كَانَ فِينَا ثَلَاثَةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ فَأَمَّا حُذَيْفَةُ فَمَاتَ وَأَمَّا أَبُو مُوسَى فَأَتَى الشَّامَ وَأَنْتَ قَدْ أَخَذْتَ فِي هَذَا الْوَجْهِ وَوَقَعَ مِنَ الْفِتَنِ مَا تَرَى فَقَالَ لِي «يَا يَسِيرُ إِنِّي لَنَاصِحٌ الْزَمِ الْجَمَاعَةَ فَإِنَّ اللهَ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَيَجْمَعَ أُمَّةَ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ عَلَى الضَّلَالَةِ حَتَّى يَسْتَرِيحَ بَرٌّ أَوْ يُسْتَرَاحَ مِنْ فَاجِرٍ»
Translation

✧ Abu Masʿūd al-Anṣārī set out in this direction, and I went out with him until when we were at al-Saylaḥīn, he dismounted and I dismounted with him. When I saw that he was alone, I went to him and said: O Abā Masʿūd, among us there were three Companions of Muhammad ﷺ. As for Ḥudhayfah, he died; as for Abū Mūsā, he went to Syria; and you have taken this direction. Of the trials, there has occurred what you see. He said to me: "O Yasīr, I am giving sincere advice: adhere to the jamaʿah, for God would not gather the ummah of Muhammad ﷺ upon misguidance until the righteous one finds rest or people are relieved of the wicked one."
