حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدُوسِ بْنِ كَامِلٍ ثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْجَعْدِ ثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ يَسِيرَ بْنَ عَمْرٍو
أنَّ أَبَا مَسْعُودٍ الْأَنْصَارِيَّ لَمَّا قُتِلَ عُثْمَانُ احْتَجَبَ فِي بَيْتِهِ فَدَخَلْتُ عَلَيْهِ فَسَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ أَمْرِ النَّاسِ فَقَالَ «عَلَيْكَ بِالْجَمَاعَةِ فَإِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ لَمْ يَجْمَعْ أُمَّةَ مُحَمَّدٍ عَلَى ضَلَالَةٍ وَاصْبِرْ حَتَّى يَسْتَرِيحَ بَرٌّ أَوْ يُسْتَرَاحَ مِنْ فَاجِرٍ»

✧ Abu Mas'ud al-Ansari, when Uthman was killed, he secluded himself in his house. I entered upon him and asked him about the situation of the people. He said, "Adhere to the congregation, for Allah has not gathered the nation of Muhammad on misguidance. Be patient until a righteous person emerges or a corrupt one is removed."
