حَدَّثَنَا أَسْلَمُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَسَّانَ الْبُرْجُلَانِيُّ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ الْأَعْمَشِِ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ رَجَاءٍ عَنْ أَوْسِ بْنِ ضَمْعَجٍ عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ قَالَ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لِيَؤُمَّكُمْ أَقْرَؤُكُمْ لِلْقُرْآنِ فَإِنْ كَانَتْ قِرَاءَتُكُمْ وَاحِدَةً فَأَقْدَمُكُمْ هِجْرَةً فَإِنْ كَانَتْ هِجْرَتُكُمْ وَاحِدَةً فَأَقْدَمُكُمْ سِنًّا وَلَا يَؤُمُّ رَجُلٌ رَجُلًا فِي سُلْطَانِهِ وَلَا فِي أَهْلِهِ وَلَا تَجْلِسْ عَلَى تَكْرِمَتِهِ إِلَّا أَنْ يَأْذَنَ لَكَ»

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ said: "The one who should lead you in prayer is the best reciter of the Qur'an among you; if your recitation is equal, then the earliest of you in emigration; if your emigration is equal, then the eldest of you. No man should lead another man in his domain of authority or among his family, and do not sit on his place of honor unless he gives you permission."
