حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ بَقِيَّةَ أَنَا خَالِدٌ عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ عَنْ أُمِّ عَاصِمٍ امْرَأَةِ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ فَرْقَدٍ قَالَتْ
كُنَّا عِنْدَ عُتْبَةَ نِسْوَةً وَإنَّ كُلَّ وَاحِدَةٍ مِنَّا تُرِيدُ أَنْ تَكُونَ أَطْيَبَ رِيحًا مِن صَاحِبَتِهَا وَكَانَ عُتْبَةُ أَطْيَبَ رِيحًا وَكَان إِذَا خَرَجَ عُرِفَ مِن رِيحٍ طَيِّبََةٍ فَسَأَلْتُهَا عَنْ ذَلِك فَقَالَتْ اتَّخَذَهُ الشَّرَى عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَشَكَا ذَلِك إِلَيْه «فَأَمَرَهُ فَقَعَدَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَجَعَلَ يَدَهُ عَلَى فَرْجِهِ ثُمّ تَفَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فِي يَدِهِ فَمَسَحَ ظَهْرَهُ وَبَطْنَهُ»

✧ We were with ‘Utbah — women — and each of us wanted to be more fragrant than her companion, while ‘Utbah was the most fragrant. When he went out, he was recognized by a good scent. So she asked about that, and she said: “The itch (al-sharā) took hold of him in the time of the Messenger of God ﷺ. He complained to him, so he ordered him, and he sat before him and placed his hand over his private parts. Then the Prophet ﷺ spat into his hand and wiped his back and belly.”
